About Lisa
Lisa Corrao is a New York-born, South Florida-based comedian and actor who left her middle-school science classroom to pursue stand-up – and never looked back.
Known for her quirky observations, fearless honesty, and nerdy charm, Lisa is a fan favorite at Comic-Cons and comedy clubs around the country. As a stand-up comedian, she’s toured with greats like Patton Oswalt and the late Gilbert Gottfried, became a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival, Nickelodeon’s Funniest Mom in America, and the Women in Comedy Festival.
Throughout her decades-long career, she’s entertained U.S. troops around the world and has even had her comedy streamed for the astronauts on the International Space Station. Lisa is a popular character and voiceover actor widely celebrated for her role as Ramona on Nickelodeon’s Every Witch Way and as co-host of the Dino and Dana’s Safe Space podcast with Dino Stamatopouos and Dana Snyder.
Her debut stand-up special, A Cute Crisis, is now streaming on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.

“Just a decade ago, Corrao was a sixth-grade teacher at Silver Lakes Middle School in Pompano Beach. “I was a hilarious teacher,” she says. “I’d be teaching lessons and making my students laugh and thinking, Hey, I’m killin’ over here.“
She felt like she was always “bursting” with funny material, so in 2005 she enrolled in a comedy class at the recently opened Fort Lauderdale Improv and prepared to take the stage. A few months later, during her first set, she knew she was destined to be a comedian.
“I was two jokes in, and I was like, I guess I’m quitting my job,” she says.”

"…After that first laugh, I was hooked big time. I figured I’d found a new hobby. At 30, I felt ancient compared to the other comics, who were mostly in their teens. The only comedians my age were already famous. So I told myself: this is just for fun. Enjoy the purest part of it—writing something funny, performing it, and getting a laugh. So that’s what I did!
But the “hobby” took off. I ended up doing over 100 commercials, playing Ramona the Witch on Nickelodeon’s Every Witch Way, and opening for some of my favorite comedians. I was living my dream—just not calling it that.”
